Our Trustee Board

Trustee Recruitment

2019 has started with a BANG! We had a brilliant response to our trustee recruitment drive and had over 25 applications. The board had clear job roles for trustees to apply for and this helped to short list candidates, whos experience and knowledge supported those vacancies. We are pleased to say that we have welcomed 5 new board members and we would like to introduce them to you! To find out more about them simply click on their name or photo.

Time for the next challenge
Our centre manager, Clare Campbell, will be leaving us on Thursday 14th February to take on the next challenge that life throws at her!

Clare say's ' I have been with Teckels as the centre manager coming up to 5 years now. I have loved being here and being part of the Teckels family. I arrived a fresh faced 24 year old and although I know many supporters were worried about my young age I was welcomed by the staff and trustee board. The charity had had a few difficult months before I arrived and understandably the staff team were dubious about another newbie walking in the door.
Fast forward nearly 5 years and I am leaving a much wiser, more experienced manager who has been part of the ever challenging but exceptionally rewarding world of small independent charities.
I'd like to think in the 5 years I have been with Teckels I have shown just how much this place, the staff, the supporters and the animals here mean to me.
With my departure comes a great opportunity for the charity to bring in fresh ideas and different skills that are required at this point in the charities journey. Myself and the Teckels' assistant manager, Sarah,  have worked closely together over the last 18 months and Sarah is now an integral part of the team here with a good knowledge of Teckels and experience under her belt to take the Charity to the next stage of its journey.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been a part of my time here no matter how small that may have been. I'm going to miss the happy faces, wagging tail and perfect purrs each day but I know I can always look back with a smile on my face.

I look forward to seeing Sarah, the assistant manager, forge forward. Sarah will be supporting the charity whilst the board search for the right team members to join our amazing Teckels! '

Sarah, the board and the team are ready and excited to welcome a new set of skills into the charity.  With help from our members and supporters Teckels has, through our December appeal, managed to start to create a secure financial future for the boarding business and the rehoming charity.
Annual General Meeting 2019

Our 2019 AGM will be held at Whitminster Village Hall @ 7.30pm. We encourage our members to come along and find out how our year has been and our plans for the future. Official paperwork will be sent to all registered members shortly. Teckels Animal Sanctuaries could not exist without our members so we want to keep you up to date and let you have your say.  To find out more about our 2018 AGM including minutes and accounts please click here

Teckels Appeal Update
In December 2018 we launched an appeal through all of our social media channels, TV, Radio and Nationwide press. Teckels appealed for our supporters near and far to help us get through a difficult financial time to allow the charity to focus on creating a stable future for the charity. We are so happy to say that the support we have received has been amazing - It has been humbling to see what Teckels means to the community. People have raised nearly £70,000 but there is still work to do to ensure the continued viability of the business.
The Trustees are working hard on a business recovery plan to be implemented after the AGM.
Roxy Found Her Furever Home!

The team were so pleased to wave off our longest term resident Roxy Roo! Roxy had been at the centre 8 years. In the summer of 2018 a family came in to see us about her - They were looking for a property that would allow them to adopt Roxy. Over the next 5/6 months Sam and Leanne visited weekly to build up their relationship with our girl. She loved them both and in december we knew her time was now - We get to keep up to date with roxy on here instagram account - if you have an account then give her a follow here.

Mavis Found Her Furever Home!

Not only did we wave goodbye to roxy roo but we waved goodbye to another long term resident Mavis! Mavis had been at the centre for 3 years. Her new family spent real quality time getting to know her over a number of weeks that rolled into months before she was fully happy to go home! We have had updates from her and she is settling into home life very well indeed!

Important Boarding update

Remember to make your summer boarding bookings as soon as possible as we are already getting very busy and are nearly fully booked for a number of dates during the summer holidays (July-September). We do not want to disappoint anyone but we only have a certain number of spaces so we do advise booking sooner rather than later.

Day Boarding Update - We are experiencing high numbers of boarding bookings for school holidays so encourage you to prebook well in advance for these periods if you require day boarding. We are unable to hold kennels without deposits being paid - Thank you for your understanding.
