Monthly Series: Guardianship/Special Needs Resources

Starting this month, our newsletters will be highlighting accessible resources for families and guardians who care for individuals with disabilities. The resources presented will offer these individuals and their guardians helpful tips and initiatives that can be used to better their quality of life in all aspects. Finding resources to suit adults with disabilities can be difficult, so our newsletters will showcase one resource in our community each month, that dedicates its time to assisting individuals with disabilities. Stay tuned for next months' newsletter to learn about more guardian/special needs resources in our community!
Program Spotlight: Inspire of Central Florida
Our office had the pleasure of connecting with Inspire of Central Florida. Inspire offers an Adult Basic Education program which includes classes such as problem solving, money management, communication and safety skills. Inspire helps men and women ages 18 and up, who have completed their formal education, and have a developmental disability diagnosis. Some of these diagnoses include cerebral palsy, autism, spina-bifida, Prader-Willi syndrome, as well as individuals who have had a traumatic brain injury. Inspire creates individual support plans to help prepare their Contract Fulfillment Specialists for employment as well as connecting them with employment opportunities. Inspire has recently launched Project G.R.O.W. provides individuals ages 22 and up who are diagnosed with an intellectual and/or developmental disability with an internship opportunity. Inspire is a wonderful opportunity for individuals with disabilities to gain work experience, money management, and essential survival skills. For more information visit their website!
