Thank you for subscribing and opening this email today - I promise you it will be worth the time you spend reading it :)
And I will be sending these to you every two weeks this summer (bi-weekly) - so we will both "Take It Easy" this summer - love this idiom!
(Great song by the Eagles too - look it up!:)
Today we will talk about a FUN way to learn English - through IDIOMS! Since summer officially started June 21st! (except in Brazil - sorry Brazil!! :P) - we will talk about SUMMER and idioms about summer :)
What is YOUR favorite summer idiom from this video? Or do you have one you've heard that you want to talk about? Reply and let me know :)
Also check out Sheryl Crow's "Soak Up the Sun" video for some great summertime grooves and beautiful beach scenes - for those of you brave enough to go surfing and look good in a bikini ...
I'd rather sit around the campfire and sing this song with her :)
I'm gonna soak up the sun
I'm gonna tell everyone to lighten up,
I'm gonna tell 'em that I've got no one to blame
For every time I feel lame I'm looking up
I'm gonna soak up the sun
Here I am "soaking up the sun" with my friends in the Great Smoky Mountains of Gatlinburg, TN - along with riding in a helicopter - amazing - and enjoying the sights - I love business vacations! :)
So ... hope these videos are helping you to SEE how I teach my private students ... I've been teaching these concepts for years and decided it was time to spread my wings to a global audience....:)
I will be doing more online teaching and test prep this summer - if you know anyone that is NOT local to Raleigh, NC but needs a good online teacher - send them my way :) The commute is awesome and all you need is time and desire to learn - so if you want my summer discount to my online students - reply and tell me what you want to accomplish this summer! :)
And...if you have American English questions - anything you want to ask - now's the time to send them to me - reply here to have your question added to the list of questions I have to highlight in each week's newsletter! I will pick one question each week and you could be featured! :)
So two action steps for anyone with questions for me - 1) ASK me questions by replying to this newsletter! I could feature your question in the future!
2) Watch each Q&A as it comes out weekly on Monday mornings! Great way to start your week, right?
And for my American friends - or anyone with other suggestions - how do YOU learn a second language best? What have you tried that has worked for you?? Please reply and let me know! :)
That's all for this week! Hope you enjoyed it - pass it on if you did :)
I love helping those who want help with their pronunciation and conversation skills - I have the free bi-weekly meetings through my Meetup (see link below) and I can dive deeper with customized lessons for each student who meets with me for private lessons, in person or online.
