A Wednesday Mini Market

Hi Farm Friends,

Inspiration isn't showing up, y'all. I'm gonna have to force some folksy charm into this newsletter. Turning the Garrison Keiller knob to 4 (really, that's more than high enough).

We're doing a new market. Meacham Urban Farm, my veggie project, and TrailBale are partnering to set up at Tampa General Hospital this Wednesday, Jan 12th, and probably every other Wednesday, at the Davis Island campus, by the Harborside Medical Tower. Just follow the signs for valet. It's mainly for hospital staff, but all are welcome. And just like little Jimmy Doherty, who's now six foot five and captain of the Lake Wobegon Wobbling Muskrat's varsity football team, we've got more good stuff than you'd expect. (Ugh, awful. Sorry folks). Anyway, I'll have chicken, pork, beef and eggs, and the veggies will be amazing of course. Come check it out.

Also, fresh chicken this weekend, in the wholes, the halves and all the cuts. I'm putting up a bunch of it in the online store as soon as I run out of steam on this email. Try Ma Johnston's famous buttermilk and peppercorn fried chicken recipe. She's only divulged the recipe after long evenings of playing pinochle and drinking expired egg nog, so we're still close enough to the holiday season for you to get it.

(Okay, hating myself. Checking notes on more news. Ugh, more news). Good news folks, there's more news. It's small enough to fit into one paragraph and have only one attempt at humor. I'm taking pigs to the pork-making place next week. If you'd like special cuts, or have any requests, let me know soon. I can do pork loins, huge shoulders, small bellies, two-inch thick pork chops (yes, we'll do that again, you maniacs)... It's a new processor, so I can't guarantee, but I should be able to get it all. And I've been invited to be a guest on a great WMNF show, Wavemakers, next Tuesday at 11am (pretty sure 11am). Tune in and listen to me blather on about why I would choose to work eighty hour weeks for no money. No commercials for biscuits or any other hokey nonsense (sorry, I can't do it anymore. It hurts).

What's in Travis' Car Right Now?

Week eleven. I can't believe nobody asked about last week. Well, too late now.

Jacket, hoodie, sweater, sock hat
1 tarp, slightly wet
1 skateboard
1 half roll of toilet paper crammed in an empty Clif Bar box
1 ratchet strap
The last thing Billy Pumperskindle saw on the evening of the Great Truffle Challenge
As always, the online store inventory will be updated Tuesday at 8pm.
