Quick Strike application
NS-PIHCI members led a Quick Strike application, submitted on December 1, 2015.  The project is titled: “Using Small Area Rate Estimation and Health Care ‘Hot Spotting’ to Target and Design Interventions for Complex, High-Cost Patients” and partners with the New Brunswick SPOR Network: Primary and Integrated Community Care.  NS-PIHCI members Dr. George Kephart and Dr. Grace Warner are the Principal Investigators from Nova Scotia and Dr. Paul Peters is the Principal Investigator from New Brunswick. Seeking citizen representatives
NS-PIHCI is recruiting citizen representatives to sit on our Advisory Council.  Please share this opportunity with anyone you think would be interested.  Full details available here
Funding Opportunities
CIHR will be launching targeted funding opportunities for research projects conducted by Primary and Integrated Health Care Innovation Network members across the country.  These opportunities will launch this year and we encourage you to start building teams and protocols.  More funding opportunity details are available on our website.
Event Recap
NS-PIHCI hosted a series of informal “Project Incubator” discussions to encourage the development of research questions and connections between members with similar interests.  The first series covered the following topics:
  • Integrated Care: Addressing the needs of priority populations (Jan. 12)
  • High-system users: Tackling the issues (Jan. 19)
  • Complex needs across the life course: Children and Youth (Jan. 26)
