Dear friends,

We've arrived in Atlanta! NEW NOISE is thrilled to be hosted for the next two weeks by the amazing folks at AIR Serenbe, an artist-in-residency program located in the Serenbe community just southwest of Atlanta. They are supporting the development and presentation of Oxblood, NEW NOISE's panoramic outdoor performance about land, labor, and home in the American South.

We have a whole host of events lined up, starting this Thursday, and we hope you (or your friends/collaborators/co-conspirators in the ATL area) can join us!

Hosted by The Lucky Penny and Theater Emory
The Schwartz Center for Performing Arts | 1700 N Decatur Rd. NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30322

In this two hour physical theater workshop, we will explore some of the methods that NEW NOISE uses in devising original multi-disciplinary work. We will engage in movement, creative writing, and multiple techniques for performatively combining the two. We will create images with our bodies and explore the stories they tell. Through the medium of performance, we will ask ourselves and each other one of the questions at the heart of NEW NOISE's show Oxblood: Is there a place where your body belongs?

This event is FREE, but space is limited to 14 participants. All participants must register in advance by emailing Malina Rodriguez at

Oxblood is a panoramic outdoor performance about land, labor, and home in the contemporary South. Estranged sisters Rose and Laurel reunite in rural Georgia after their centuries-old family home burns to the ground. While Rose's husband Jacob loses himself in the scarred farmland, the two sisters grapple over its uncertain future. Oxblood unfolds in a fearless blend of dialogue, dance, and sweeping choral music. With rich, keening harmonies composed by Brendan Connelly, and deeply intimate, unflinching choreography by Angelle Hebert, Oxblood unearths the tangled histories buried deep in the land and asks what happens to us as we struggle to leave that land behind.

Oxblood is being developed and presented in the Atlanta metro area as part of a 2016 Project Residency with AIR Serenbe.

Tickets: $20 General Admission; $15 Students/Seniors/Artists
