Dear Friend,

Happy first day of Spring!  I invite you to take a moment today to notice what's sprouting in your world.  What has been incubating over the last few months?  What new life is breaking through?

Here at I Choose Love, my writing practice is a seedling that I've been tending to. You can find new blogs on topics including body image, motherhood, marriage, and more!

The practice of sharing "Monday WOW's" has fostered joy and inspiration in my life, and I invite you to start sharing your own moments of wonder.

As I noted in Wonder, Wonder Everywhere, choosing to notice moments of awe and wonder has them showing up more and more.  Comment on Monday WOWs with a photo or description of your awe-inspiring experience.  Or, reach out about opportunities for your Monday WOW to be featured!

Coaching continues to be a source of growth, connection, awe and purpose in my life.  The opportunity to witness people be courageous in pursuit of what matters most to them is a deeply humbling gift.

If you are looking for a champion for a dream or whisper on your heart, please reach out.

Thank you for sharing these moments with me today!

WOW: Saying Goodbye to Early Motherhood

I stand at the kitchen counter pulling cilantro leaves one-by-one from their stems.  I rarely put this much attention into prepping guacamole. Pluck.  Gently place.  Pluck.  And, place. The gathering of delicate greens grows into a soft, fluffy hill. I look through the open arch between the kitchen counter and living room to watch my...

Noticing Fat

“Hello darkness my old friend, I’ve come to talk with you again.” – Simon & Garfunkel Amidst an otherwise still moment of gazing through a window at dunes that lead out towards the beach and a feathered blue sky, I notice a whisper from a dusty corner of my mind. “You’re getting fat.” My right...

WOW: A Father’s Tribute

Wonder : a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable. This week’s experience of wonder came when I read a father’s tribute to his preemie son who had just left this world for heaven. Callen Jeremiah Rooney was born at 22 weeks. Although I am not currently on...

What is Coaching?

Imagine. You have someone in your life that listens for your aliveness and champions your victories. This same person walks with you as you navigate challenges, holds you accountable, and helps you remember what you stand for when you’ve forgotten. She does all this with no agenda of her own but to support you in...

WOW: Wonder, Wonder Everywhere

A sea bird with origami-like wings and a pointed tail soars up above; Flies over giant palm fronds dancing on trees in the breeze just north of where I am surfing. I look out to the horizon to catch wave number 19, Another lined up in perfect geometry. Short side toward the rocks to my...

The Loneliness in Conformity

True belonging is not passive. It’s not the belonging that comes with just joining a group. It’s not fitting in or pretending or selling out because it’s safer. It’s a practice that requires us to be vulnerable, get uncomfortable, and learn how to be present with people without sacrificing who we are. We want true...

WOW: “Mama, Mano”

As mandarin light climbs up and over shadowy peaks in the distance, rays of canary and maize outstretch like arms reaching skyward as the sun takes its first yawn of the morning. I breathe in a salted dewy mist as my daughter’s voice breaks the bird songs in the breeze. “Mama, mano,” she says. I...

From the Aftermath of “Edie”

Growing up, I was one of those girls who people thought had it easy. I learned at an early age to strive for goals, achieve, and measure people’s value (including my own) on material things. I was rewarded well for the efforts I put on this outward success, and yet, they left “Edie” brewing. “Edie”(pronounced...

Q. What is a Monday WOW?
A. Every Monday, I publish a photo and/or written synopsis of a moment of awe and wonder.

Q. Why awe and wonder?
A. Awe and wonder are transcendent experiences that help us feel connected to the "something greater" -- and who we are as part of the collective. They ignite curiosity and kindness, and thus our ability to choose love!

“Yet love in its fullest form is a series of deaths and rebirths. We let go of one phase, one aspect of love, and enter another. Passion dies and is brought back. Pain is chased away and surfaces another time. To love means to embrace and at the same time to withstand many endings, and many many beginnings- all in the same relationship.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés
