June has been a wild ride here at Back to the Sea!

As we approach July 1st, the official opening day of the Touch Tank Hut*, we're taking a second to stop, breathe, and look back at everything that happened throughout June.

*pssst! reservations can be made on our Touch Tank Hut webpage!

Double Blog Post Alert!
World Oceans Day and World Sea Turtle Day

In June we had not one, but TWO blog posts written by members of our Communications Committee!
For World Ocean(s) Day on June 8th, Alex Tesar wrote about whether we should be referring to our earth's bodies of salt water as separate oceans, or one global ocean - it's an ongoing debate!

Which do you think is more correct, oceans or ocean? See if you're right, or if there even is a right answer! 🌐
On World Sea Turtle Day, June 16th, Lauren Farley wrote about Nova Scotia's migratory sea turtle - the Leatherback!

Did you know that Leatherback sea turtles are the largest sea turtle species in the world? They can grow up to 2 meters (6 feet) long, and weighing up to 2000 pounds!

Read about these gentle giants! 🐢

Setting Up the Touch Tank Hut Took a Team!

Blog posts aren't the only thing that was worked on extra-hard this month - we also got to work on setting up the Touch Tank Hut for our grand reopening on July 1st!

From painting and hammering, to setting up our Life Support System, to getting our animals and beautifying the interior, our team (along with a cavalcade of dedicated volunteers and supporters!) gave the Touch Tank Hut the glow-up of a lifetime.
We can't wait for everybody to visit us!

Due to Covid restrictions, we're doing things a little bit differently this year. Visits to the Touch Tank Hut are now private, 30-minute long tours for you and your group. These must be pre-booked. Head to our sign-up page to secure your spot for your spot!

We're also selling season passes which include unlimited visits to the Touch Tank Hut, 50% off our Touch Tank Hut programs, and 10% off Tidal Trekkers and retail items. Call 902-817-2007 to purchase your season pass.

I'm ready to go to the Touch Tank Hut!

We're Nearly There, but Could Use Some Help!

We may be ready to invite visitors into the Touch Tank Hut, but we're still not 100% set up!

Do you have an old iPad or tablet you no longer use? We would love to be its new owner! We're looking for a device with a SIM card slot to help streamline our bookings at the Touch Tank Hut.

Please reply to this email, or email magali@backtothesea.ca, if you're able to help out. Thank you!
Even if you don't have a tablet to donate, you can still support Back to the Sea by donating to us! While monthly donors are incredibly important to small charities like Back to the Sea, you can make a difference to ocean education with any amount!

I can make a difference to ocean education!
It's been a month of hard work, but we at the Back to the Sea Society are so proud of what we've accomplished, and so thankful to all of the help and support we've received from our donors, volunteers, and supporters. We can't wait to see you all soon!
