Govanstowne Farmers Market
Wednesdays // 5104 York Road // 3-6pm
Help! We've fallen victim to Maryland's 7 day weather cycle!  The hot weather has been bringing afternoon showers to our market for the past few weeks.  But regardless, we're open rain or shine.  We play by pool rules to keep everyone safe when lightning strikes.  We hope you'll brave the clouds and get out into the summer rain to support local businesses and farmers with us today.

New & Bright Barriers
Thanks to artist Graham Coriel-Allen and team for the bright new  new vinyl stickers on the market barriers around our market area to complement the new crosswalk.  The stickers reflect the colors and unity symbols such as Adinkra Symbols in the "Unity Tracks" crosswalk.

Adinkra Symbols were originated by the Akan people in the countries known today as Ghana and Cote de Ivoire.  Each symbol evokes a piece of traditional wisdom.  Here are the meanings for the symbols in the design:
  • Sankofa: "go back and get it" or learn from the past
  • Woforo dua pa a: "when you climb a good tree" or support & cooperation
  • Duafe: wooden comb, representing qualities of support and care
