Govanstowne Farmers Market
Wednesdays // 5104 York Road // 3-6pm
It's a bountiful week and there's lots to celebrate.  Check out some ideas for the grill to celebrate one of the many holidays happening this weekend.

It's supposed to be a gorgeous afternoon.  Stop by to support small businesses and farmers in your own community!

In community,
Marie, GFM Market Manager
Light Up the Grill!
It's a trifecta holiday weekend -- Juneteenth, Pride, and Father's Day.  Whether you're celebrating one or a combination of all three, there's nothing better than a menu of grilled goods.  Here's our menu and recipes for these holiday celebrations:
Grilled Summer Veggies
We've got multiple veggies available for grilling this week: asparagus, squash, potatoes, spring onions, and more!  Just slather with a good dose of olive oil, salt, and pepper and grill at 350 for 5-10 minutes, the veggies will be crisp and fresh as the perfect side for your feast.
Loaded Local Sausages
Those who planned ahead ordered some fresh, local Berkshire pork sausages from The Family Farm through pre-order this week.  And y'all are in for a treat!  These sausages are amazing.

Farmer Joe told us it's a sin to boil these sausages, so be sure to grill them low and slow until they're fully cooked through.  Our favorite toppings are sauerkraut and mustard, but you can have it plain and it will be just as tasty! In the boxes this week: beer brats, spicy Korean style sausage, and Mexican style chorizo.

Missed pre-order for this week?  It goes live at every Friday at noon.
Sweet Cherry Pie
The first of the sweet cherries are back in season! Top off a fabulous grilled dinner with some Sweet Cherry Pie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  We love this simple recipe from Smitten Kitchen that lets the cherries shine.  And for folks who don't have a cherry pitter, here's an easy hack using a wine bottle and a chopstick!

Shaw Orchards will be bringing us a double punch of sweet goodness this week with strawberries and sweet cherries.  Get to market early, they're sure to sell out!
