Yes, we meant WDF not WTF (where's the finish?). WDF is shorthand for the Women's Distance Festival established by Road Runners Club of America in 1980, back when the Olympics didn't have distance events for women. PGRC has its own WDF race coming up on Sunday August 12, and don't worry guys, we have a race for the men too. Sign up by August 9 to secure your spot; there is no race-day registration. Many volunteers are needed, everything from course marshal to finish line to race photographer.
The WDF and Men's Race is the graduation race for our Running Start program. For more experienced runners, our marathon and half-marathon training programs are underway and still accepting registrations.
If you and your kids haven't come out for the popsicles yet, there is one more chance to run or volunteer in the Summer Series Thursday races, which wrap up on August 9. We've had 140 runners so far this year and would love to see some new people this week as well as those who participate every week.
All of our club activities happen because of our volunteers. On September 22, we'll celebrate our volunteers at our volunteer picnic. If you'd like to volunteer in any capacity, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Chris. She would be happy to help find the perfect volunteer position for you.
We want to hear from YOU! Look for our club survey this week and let us know how we are doing and share your ideas for our club.
Our drop-in weekly runs and walking group continue year-round, so stop by sometime. Keep on running, walking, volunteering, and participating in your club!
