Welcome to this week’s e-news.

Our Charity Raceday is fast approaching with only 5 weeks to go! There are still a few fantastic sponsorship opportunities available which includes a table of 10 at the event along with regional and national coverage by Racing UK as well as the two charities (Foundation of Light and the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation). We are also delighted to announce that the BBC Radio Total Sport programme will be broadcasting from the event that evening and former Newcastle and Sunderland players will be in attendance. If you are interested in any of these opportunities or would just like to buy a table or individual tickets then please contact us.

Last Thursday and Friday Leanne and I were away on Constructing Excellence business in London and Leeds for our London & South East and Yorkshire & Humber Awards. Huge congratulations to all the very worthy winners at both ceremonies and we will look forward to seeing them at the National final later on this year. Well done to everyone at the Constructing Excellence North West Awards which also took place on Thursday evening too.

On Sunday Leanne and I along with a few family and friends participated in this year’s Race for Life in Durham. Leanne and I are delighted to have raised over £500 for Cancer Research UK and hopes this money will go towards further fantastic research they are carrying out. Many thanks to all those who have kindly supported us, your donations mean a lot to us as well as the charity.

This week Leanne and I have been out and about seeing some of our members to catch up on what they have been up to and let them know what we are also doing. We will be carrying out further visits to our members over the course of the next few months, if we haven’t yet got to you don’t worry as we will be in touch soon!

This evening we will be attending Sir Robert McAlpine’s Cocktail Party at the Baltic and look forward to seeing many of you there.

Tomorrow afternoon Leanne and I have had a kind invitation along to Muckle LLP’s Afternoon Tea Party to watch the men’s semi-finals at Wimbledon.

Next week we have two events taking place with possibility of a third. On Wednesday is the Clay Pigeon Shoot in association with Forum for the Built Environment at Bywell Grange Shooting Ground and we still have a few places available so if you wish to attend please contact Leanne. Then on Thursday evening is the G4C North East with DAC Beachcroft rearranged seminar ‘Managing Construction Contracts’ with Stephen McLellan. Again details are below.

Dave Stitt of DSA Building Performance will be running an event next Thursday evening which is aimed at Senior Management and Directors of organisations to focus on staying strong in troubled times by growing and protecting confidence of you and your business. Details are below of the session.

We would like to welcome to the North East Club Livingston House Construction and look forward to meeting with them shortly.

Best wishes
