Welcome to this week’s e-news.

Last Friday afternoon Leanne and I attended First Friday Club which is run in conjunction with Watson at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Newcastle. There was a marvellous turnout and it was great to see so many of you and also lovely to meet up with lots of new people this time too. There are a few sponsorship opportunities available for later this year so if you are interested in this please let Leanne or me know. The next one is being held on April 1st and details of this will be available soon.

After the First Friday Club Leanne and I then headed off to Leeds for the Generation4Change Yorkshire & Humber Awards at the Leeds Armouries. Caroline Key, G4C Y&H Chair organised such an inspiring event and we now can’t wait for ours on April 1st at the Hilton. We would like to congratulate all the winners on Friday evening and wish them all the best for their future in the industry.

We still have a few tickets remaining for the G4C NE Awards on April 1st at the Hilton NewcastleGateshead so if you are planning on booking places or a table please contact Leanne.

On Monday we had a discussion on our forthcoming Charity Raceday in association with the Foundation of Light and Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. It will be a fun packed afternoon with not only the racing to look forward to but appearances of former players and Total Sport will also be broadcasting from the event later in the afternoon too! We will be announcing the details very soon but if you are interested in sponsoring a race or just attending please let us know and don’t forget to make a date in your diary for Friday 12th August.

Yesterday morning was the Working Well Together meeting to discuss their upcoming programme of events for 2016. Their next event is being held on April 19th looking at Temporary Works and details will be made available shortly.

This morning we have held the CIC North East Wonder Town Challenge Discovery Day with presentations from George F White, CK21 Consultants, Howarth Litchfield, GentooTolent, Robertson and r-evolution. The presentations covered sustainability factors within the industry along with also providing the students with a presentation skills and marketing briefing. We would like to thank all the speakers for their thoroughly enjoyable and interesting presentations. We would also like to thank New College Durham for hosting the event and the use of their facilities.

Tomorrow we are supporting the NCBF, CECA, NFB and FMB with the Construction Alliance Northeast (CAN) launch at Ramside Hall and we will look forward to seeing many of you there.

Next week, we have two events taking place. On the Tuesday we have ‘I’ll see you in court’ seminar with Kevin Anderson, Sintons Law at their offices in Newcastle. Then on Thursday is the return of the bi-monthly Tees Valley Construction Networking and we would very much like to thank Muckle LLP as who have kindly sponsored this month’s event. If you would like to register for either of these or any of our other events please see below for further details or contact Leanne.

Best wishes
