Welcome to this week’s e-news.

Last Friday evening Leanne and I attended the RICS North East Renaissance Awards at Newcastle Civic Centre and it was great to see over 400 of you there to cheer on your projects. Many congratulations to all the winners and to all those who were also shortlisted. We had a great night and it was lovely to catch up with so many of you.

On Tuesday morning G4C North East started on their ‘Inspiring Change to Lead Programme’ in conjunction with Dave Stitt at DSA Building Performance. The programme is to look at change in the industry and their findings will be presented at the G4C North East Awards next year.

Yesterday morning we held ‘BIM: The Legal Right’ in association with the construction team at Bond Dickinson. Simon Lewis, Partner in Construction and Engineering, explained BIM and what the benefits are to the construction industry. He went on to talk about Level 2 and 3 BIM and how they are progressing and then the contractual agreement between the organisations involved in projects. It was a great overview and very interesting to see how this pans out in the future. We would like to thank Simon and his team for the great presentation and their hospitality.

Then in the afternoon we had a meeting with the Foundation of Light and Newcastle Racecourse to discuss our forthcoming Charity Raceday which is raising funds for Foundation of Light and The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. The Raceday will be held on Friday 12
th
August at Newcastle Racecourse, it will be attended by former players from both Newcastle United and Sunderland AFC. BBC Radio Newcastle will present their 'Total Sport ' show from the event that evening too. If you are interested in sponsorship please contact us for further details as their is limited availability. Details of how to purchase tickets are below.

Tomorrow evening, I am attending the RIBA North East Awards at As You Like It and would like to wish all those shortlisted the best of luck.

Next week is slightly quieter so the CENE team will be looking at our schedule of events for the forthcoming months so if you have any suggestions on what you would like us to cover please contact Leanne with your ideas.

We are delighted to welcome to the North East Club Story Homes and we will look forward to seeing them at one of our events soon.

Best wishes
