Welcome to this week’s e-news.

Last Friday afternoon we held the First Friday Club in association with Watson Burton LLP at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. It was great to see many new faces this month and great to catch up with the rest of you. We do have some sponsorship opportunities available for the forthcoming months so if you are interested then please make contact with us to find out more.

This week Leanne and I have been out to see more of our members to see what CENE can do to further benefit their membership as well as catching up on what they are doing in the region. We will be making more visits so please bear with us whilst we try to get around you all.

This evening Leanne and Lauren are attending Jackson Law Firm’s 140th Anniversary celebratory drinks at their offices in Newcastle and they look forward to seeing everyone. Whilst I am a guest of ICE North East at their Annual Dinner and Robert Stephenson Awards at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel. I would like to wish all those who have entered good luck.

Tomorrow I am heading down to Birmingham for the Celebrating Construction Awards 2016 in conjunction with the Built Environment Hub (Constructing Excellence West Midlands), CIOB and Birmingham City Council at the ICC and again wish those all those who have been shortlisted all the very best!

Next week we have two events taking place. On Wednesday evening we have our G4C North East ‘Getting Your Contracts Right’ with Stephen McLellan of DAC Beachcroft. Stephen will explain the ins and outs of a legal construction contract followed by networking with beers provided by DAC Beachcroft. Then on Thursday morning we return to DAC Beachcroft for the next in the series which is looking at ‘Delay and Liquidated Damages’ with Partner in Construction, Roddy Gordon. If you are interested in either of the events please see below for further details or contact Lauren.

Well it’s now less than a month to go until we announce the winners of the 2016 CENE Awards at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel. We only have a few tickets remaining and they are going very quickly so please contact Leanne immediately if you wish to reserve any as we have well over 500 people attending so far.

Best wishes
