Summer Reading Club 2016

Summer Reading Club


Sign-up for Summer Reading Club begins May 1st! This entire summer is going to be absolutely packed with activities, all of which can be found on our website here. We have tried our best to make sure this year will even more awesome than last year's Summer Reading Club! Meet Author Katherine Applegate


We are extremely excited to announce that we will soon have award-winning author Katherine Applegate join us for a FREE meet & greet and book signing! Katherine is a renowned young adult and children's fiction writer, best known as the author of the Animorphs series,
Everworld series,
Remnants series, Home of the Brave, The One 
and Only Ivan
, Crenshaw, and many more! She will be joining us Friday, June 17th from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Pine Tree Auditorium, located at 1701 Pine Tree Rd. in Longview! We will also have copies of her books available for purchase from a local bookstore. This event was made possible by a generous grant from the Texas State Library and Archies Commission and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. We will be using Beanstack for online registration for Summer Reading Club! Beanstack is a free, specialized service that offers personalized book recommendations for your kid(s) based on their age, reading level, and specific interests, and also provides tools for learning to help build literacy at an early age. Your child will stay engaged all year long as they continually discover new books of interest to explore! If you're looking for a great, active book club to join, look no further! The Diverse Readers Book Club, formed by two of our own staff members, meets on the second Saturday of each month to discuss their chosen book(s), and they would love to have you!
