Haunted Library is October 19th and 20th from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM each night! Tickets are on sale now at the Library. Prices are $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children under 13. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Longview Public Library, and no refunds will be issued under any circumstances. Limited number of tickets available for purchase, and those who purchase tickets before the day of the event receive line priority. The Haunted Library is a full-fledged haunted house, complete with fake blood, various frights, and high-impact scares; therefore, it is recommended for ages 10+. It's not too late to volunteer for Haunted Library! We have 3 Volunteer Orientation dates in October: Thursday, October 4th at 6:30 PM, Tuesday, October 9th at 6:30 PM, and Saturday, October 13th at 10:00 AM.  You MUST be signed up as a volunteer prior to the event in order to participate. Anyone who shows up in costume and is not on our volunteer list will NOT be allowed to volunteer. If you're interested in volunteering for the Haunted Library, or would like more information, please contact Jenna at (903) 237-1027 or or Taylor at (903) 237-1346 or!   
We will ONLY BE OPEN for the Haunted Library on October 19th and 20th! Local History & Genealogy will also be CLOSED from October 15th - 20th. We apologize for any inconvenience! 
On October 4th between 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM, your children can experience a mobile clinic designed to mimic a doctor's office visit! Staff members from HealthCARE Express will perform check-ups on teddy bears, dolls, action figures, or other plush friends so that children can see that going to the doctor isn't scary after all! More info: (903) 237-1345.

Join us for our next Adult Crafts event on October 6th from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM! We will be creating tulle wreaths. Come create your own spooky masterpiece in preparation of Halloween! We welcome our local indie author community for a day of education, networking, mingling, writing, open mics, panels, and much more! On October 25th at 6:30 PM, join us outside on the Eastman Plaza as local citizen and long-time Library patron, Mr. Matt, tells dramatic stories featuring dynamic characters like the tricky spider Anansi! Please bring a blanket or a chair on which to sit. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held inside the Cecile Moeschle Meeting Room. More info: (903) 237-1345
Join us for a special nutrition class for adults taught by Cory Alvarado on October 29th from 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM! The topic of this class is learning how to create safe and healthy meals, with an emphasis on cleanliness. More free classes to come in November! Ages 18+ only.
