Chautauqua Festival 2016

Our 2nd annual Chautauqua
(”sha-tauk-wa”) Festival is happening on Saturday, April 16th from 10:30 AM - 3:00 PM! This is a FREE event celebrating all the rich, diverse culture that Longview has to offer, including live music & performances, local authors, artists, & artisans, a literary cake contest, and so much more! If you would like to reserve a vendor booth space to promote your books, photography, art, creations, etc., you may do so by clicking here. The fee to reserve a booth is only $20.00 for the whole event! This helps us cover the costs of renting equipment for the event so that it stays free to the public. Chautauqua Festival is going to be a lot of fun, and we look forward to seeing everyone there!

Ever since we made hoopla available to our patrons in January, we have received a LOT of positive responses about it! If you haven't tried it yet, please do! Using your Library Card, you can instantly access digital movies, TV shows, eBooks, eAudiobooks, full-length music albums, comic books, and more! Best of all, there's no waiting, no holds, and no late fees. Hoopla is available on computers and most mobile devices via the free hoopla app. Click here to get started!

Beanstack is a free, specialized service that offers personalized book recommendations for your kid(s) based on their age, reading level, and specific interests, and also provides tools for learning to help build literacy at an early age. Your child will stay engaged all year long as they continually discover new books of interest to explore! Spring Book Sale

Our Friends of the Longview Public Library Spring Book Sale will take place from Tuesday, March 8th through Sunday, March 13th! We will be having the sale in our Art Hallway during regular Library hours. Paperbacks and children's books will be only $0.25 cents each, and everything else will be only $1.00. What a great time to stock up on books for the summer!

If you're between the ages of 13-18 and want to have a lot of fun this summer while gaining valuable workplace experience, we have a Teen Summer Intern spot just for you! Just pick up an Internship application from your school counselor, or at the Library Children's Desk. It's best to act quickly - we have limited spots available, and they're going fast! If you're looking for a great, active book club to join, look no further! The Diverse Readers Book Club, formed by two of our own staff members, meets on the second Saturday of each month to discuss their chosen book(s), and they would love to have you!
