Beat the summer heat with a visit to your Library!

Summer is in full swing and we've got programs and events for kids, teens, and adults to enjoy at the library!

There's still time to register for Kids AND Adult Summer Reading Clubs!

Kids and teens ages 0-18 can be registered online through Beanstack at: longviewtexas.beanstack.org.
Or, you can come into the library and sign them up at the children’s desk.
It's a great way to get kids reading, AND have them earn weekly prizes for doing so!
Last day for registration is July 17.

Also, you can call or come into the library and ask the front desk staff for help registering.
For the weekly raffle, keep submitting weekly raffle slips to the box by Sunday of each week, and the drawing winner will be announced the following Monday via FB and contacted. Hopefully you're completing the Quantum Leap Raffle challenge, and attending Adult SRC programming to work on your Rocket Scientist Raffle challenge!

And we’ve got a painting project that fits in perfectly with our Summer Reading Club theme: outer space! We’ll be teaching you how to do a super easy galaxy painting technique you can apply to many different things.

Ages 18+, program is FREE, sign-up required. Wear clothes you don’t mind painting in. Supplies provided, but feel free to bring your own acrylic paint colors if you’d like to play around.

  • Powerpoint: Class on Microsoft Powerpoint that teaches the basics of how to make a slideshow presentation using graphics, charts, text, etc. Basic computer knowledge recommended.
July 22 & 24, 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Basic Excel I & II: This is an introductory course into Microsoft Excel that focuses on database entry and formula input to make spreadsheets and workbooks.
July 23 & 25, 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Advanced Excel I & II: Advanced class on database and spreadsheet entry. Emphasis on tables, charts (Pivot) and formatting your workbooks.
July 30, 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Internet Basics: Computer class that will teach you basics on how to use the Internet, and the various services you can utilize through it (ex: setting up an email account).
