Hi Everyone

Many thanks for your continued interest in receiving the HANT (Highlands Against Nuclear Transport) Bulletin and supporting our aims.

You will have received an e mail on 2 May 2020 with details of the proposed virtual HANT AGM which will be held at 6 pm on Friday 15 May 2020 by ZOOM.

Meeting ID: 869 6170 1251

Password: hellohant

We would be very pleased if you could join us for the 45 minutes that it will take to run through the Agenda (which will include an update on 2019/2020 activities and future plans) and will include election of Office Bearers:

We have two existing Committee Members (Tor Justad and Donnie Macleod) willing to be re-elected and a Member / Supporter Peter Woods from Nairn who has indicated his interest in becoming a Committee Member

We could do with 2/3 more so if you're interested (commitment is bi-monthly 1 hour Skype meetings) then, regardless of where you live, you would be welcome to join us - no previous experience required!

After the AGM there will be an opportunity to watch an online premiere of the film "The Atom- A love Affair" (duration 90 minutes) followed by an online Q & A with the Director Vicki Lesley at 8.30 pm - if you do not have a Curzon Home Cinema subscription the cost to watch the film is £9.99

In these days of lockdown, films that would have been released at the cinema are now going online.
One such film, released on Friday, gives an interesting documentary analysis of why nuclear power has remained so strong over the past 70 years with strong support in government. It looks at both sides of the argument and is really well worth watching.

The details for watching the film are below, and you are encouraged to pass on through your networks. As it notes, there is also a special web-based chat with the director of the film Vicki Lesley and the film narrator Lily Cole at 8.30pm on Friday.

On Friday 15th May THE ATOM: A LOVE AFFAIR will premiere on Curzon Home Cinema, followed by a Q&A with director Vicki Lesley and the film's narrator, actor, author and activist Lily Cole.

Buying a ticket could not be easier. Go to:

and click the ‘Remind me’ button to put it in your calendar.

On Friday, go back to the website any time after 00:01 and pay to watch the film.  Once you have paid (there are no other subscription fees), you have 48 hours to watch it. You can stop, rewind, fast forward and re-watch it as many times as you like, across your connected devices.

The live Q&A with Vicki and Lily will be available to watch online at 8:30pm on 15 May from Curzon Home Cinema itself or any of their social media feeds.  And the film will be on Curzon Home Cinema for 2 weeks.

HANT looks forward to seeing you at the ZOOM AGM

With thanks and best wishes
