Annual report provides snapshot of busy year

We’ve adopted our 2015-16 Annual Report.

The document, themed Reshaping Our Region, is a snapshot of a busy 12 months and contains plenty of fun facts.

Fund offers $2 million

Our successful economic stimulus measure – the Better Community Building Fund – is back.

A new round will open on Monday (November 28), with $2 million on offer for community and not-for-profit sporting groups.

This round is aimed at grants between $25,000 and $100,000.

Health screening push

We’re challenging local businesses and other councils and leading the way in helping improve the overall health and well being of the community by health screening our employees.

During December, our staff will be able to undertake a short test by CQR Health and be provided with a personalised snapshot of their health.

Mayor Greg Williamson has already done the test.

Local contractors win tenders worth $1.2m

We’ve awarded two local contractors tenders worth a combined $1.2 million.

Rock N Road Bitumen Pty Ltd and Fulton Hogan Industries will complete asphalt surfacing on various roads around the region as part of council’s 2016-17 road resurfacing program.

Put your hand up for RADF grant opportunity

Our latest round of RADF grants is open, with more than $45,000 available.

Applications for grants in this round close at midnight, February 8.

New RADF committee member Kristy Gostelow, the mother of rising Mackay music sensation Tia Gostelow, is encouraging people with creative ideas to apply.
