Incentives policy for development in region expanded


Our policy which aims to attract investment and create jobs in the region is being boosted to provide even more incentives.

The revised Facilitating Development in the Mackay Region Policy will expand incentives to include a wider range of land uses and offer them in more areas.

Hogan’s Pocket stage three completed

The third stage of our $5 million Hogan’s Pocket Regional Landfill Development is complete.

The stage is part of a 50-year master plan that will see the creation of 11 stages, known as cells, at our main landfill site.

National week focuses on recycling efforts


It is National Recycling Week and it is a great time to reflect how we can improve our recycling habits.

We’re seeking support from residents and business owners to help improve the region’s recycling practices.

New round open for community grants

The next round of our Community Grants is open and offering assistance for groups looking to help the environment.
 
This round includes general Community Grants of up to $5000 to help not-for-profit groups with programs, infrastructure, health and safety, projects and events.
 
Grants of up to $1000 are also available for small equipment purchases.

There is still time to have your pet portrait immortalised on the walls of our Artspace Mackay.

The submission period for the Mackay Pet Portrait Project has been extended until Friday, November 25.

To enter, submit an A3-sized portrait of your pet on unframed paper to the front desk of Artspace Mackay.
