Spring Fit Health Challenge

We are excited to announce that council has partnered with Star 101.9 to help get the community active in Spring with a new campaign called Spring Fit.

There will be more than $2500 in prizes up for grabs including three major prizes and smaller weekly prizes.

One of the main components of the Spring Fit campaign will be our council “health challenge”. The health challenge will require the public to go to the council webpage and register by setting a goal (eg I want to be more active, I want to run a half marathon or I want to run 10km non-stop etc).

After completing their health challenge goal, participants need to email their photos/videos or proof of completing their goal to communications@mackay.qld.gov.au.

Is your club/organisation prepared for an emergency?

The disaster season is upon us. So now is the time to develop your Business Continuity Plan (BCP).

Your BCP should contain all the information necessary to ensure that your club/organisation is able to resume critical activities in the event of a crisis.

This could include a checklist to ensure you have a current contact list, back-ups of computer files, scanned copies of any important documents such as insurance policies and include a general clean-up of your premises to remove any debris.

It is also important to have a checklist to prepare your own place of residence.
