Heritage fair to be bursting with brides

IT’S time to start getting your costumes together for our Greenmount Heritage Fair, including for the popular “Fashions through the Decades” competition.

Last year was a sporting theme, with the stage filled with boxers, bikers and bowlers.

But this year’s Greenmount Heritage Fair, on May 28, will be bursting with brides, with a “heritage weddings” theme.

Giant owl head
gets go-ahead

A GIANT owl head, representing two threatened local species, is one of the more original projects we’ve provided funding to.

The Mackay Region Owl Arts Project has received a Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grant in the Greet Arts category.
 

Tech Savvy Seniors back

Our fortnightly Tech Savy Seniors program is back at Mackay Regional Council Libraries.
 
The training sessions for seniors in need of some technological help are held fortnightly at the Dudley Denny City and Gordon White libraries and are also being expanded to Seaforth through the Mobile Library.

upgrade powers on

Stage two of our $3.8m project to widen Malcomson Street to four lanes and install new traffic lights at Charles Hodge Avenue is under way.
 
There are some traffic changes during construction.
