Local, not-for-profit groups and organisations across the Mackay region are invited to participate in this free, one-day conference presented by: Rio Tinto, through the Hail Creek Mine Community Development Fund; the Sarina Community Bank® Branch Bendigo Bank and; Mackay Regional Council. This tailored conference will provide participants with an opportunity to engage with professionals to further their skills in a range of areas including: governance; succession planning; strategic planning; sponsorship attraction and; marketing. Places are limited.

Mackay Regional Sports Precinct
The Mackay Regional Sports Precinct is a new $20 million dollar sporting complex that will provide the local community and region with specialised sport and recreational facilities.
The overall vision is to develop a multi-facility precinct which caters for the future growth of Mackay and meets the future planning needs for sport and recreation in the region.
Stages 1A and 1B will feature a synthetic athletics track and aquatic facility. The Mackay Regional Sports Precinct is a joint initiative between the Australian Government, Mackay Regional Council and CQUniversity.

This program is designed to encourage women and girls to get active in recreation or sporting activities. Activities are available in Mackay and around the region from $5.00 per session. Get Going Clubs and Get Going Places and Spaces
From June 19 your club will be able to apply for a grant up to $150,000 to help build new infrastructure under the Queensland Government’s Get Playing Places and Spaces or a $7,500 grant under Get Going Clubs to help provide participation opportunities at your club.
This is a great opportunity for your club to upgrade some lighting, build a new club house or construct some new change rooms.

Council's community grants
Council’s community grant program aims to provide assistance to local community groups/organisations who make positive contributions to the quality of life in the Local Government area. Grants are offered twice each year. Applications close on the first Friday in February and August.

Council's junior sporting grants
Mackay Regional Council is proud to support the community with a variety of grant and funding opportunities. Council's sporting grants aim to provide financial assistance toward the cost of team levies, registration, uniforms, travel and other costs associated with junior sports persons participating in national and international competitions. This grant is offered all year round.
