Workshop: Introduction to governance for not-for-profit
Tuesday, September 13, 9am - noon
Mackay PCYC
This workshop is an introduction to some key principles of good governance within a not-for-profit organisation.
The session will have participants learning from each other through activities and discussions of key principles such as board structure, planning, legal and ethical compliance, stakeholder engagement, operational management and people management to name a few.

New tobacco laws – September 1
Next month, anyone attending an under 18 sporting event will notice a change in the air. From 1 September 2016, smoking will be banned within 10 metres of viewing and playing areas during an organized under 18 sporting event in Queensland. This includes training or practice sessions and any breaks or intervals.

Junior sporting grants
Council is proud to support the community with a variety of grant and funding opportunities.
Council's sporting grants aim to provide financial assistance toward the cost of team levies, registration, uniforms, travel and other costs associated with junior sports persons participating in national and international competitions. This grant is offered all year round.
