Featured in White House Summit

NashvilleHealth was honored to participate in the White House Summit for Strengthening the Nation’s Early Warning System for Health Threats in support of the launch of the CDC’s Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics.

Because Nashville is the first city in the country to do a real-time analysis of its COVID-19 response, CEO Mark Yancy was able to offer insight on pandemic communication at the local level.

The Nashville COVID-19 Response Review provides a roadmap on how Nashville can be better prepared in future pandemics.

“We've got to understand that we [public health officials] even have a bias towards our own information that we collect. When you have a particularly new and frightening situation like a COVID or new variant or new infectious disease, you have to offset that reliance on the empirical data in front of you with some qualitative data in those communities.” - Yancy said on the panel.
