Wellness Week 2022 Helps Children Establish Healthy Habits Early

Metro Nashville students learned about and practiced healthy lifestyles throughout the week of May 9-13 with the help of teachers around the county and community partners. Wellness Week proved to be a great success with students of all ages learning about physical activity, nutrition, the importance of drinking water and your emotional well-being, as well as environmental impacts.

NashvilleHealth is excited to award $5,000 in prizes to the top participating schools.

Congratulations to our Wellness Week Winners!

Musicians for a Smokefree Tennessee

Congratulations to Musicians for a Smokefree Tennessee!

The group recently scored a major win. The Tennessee legislature passed a pre-emption repeal bill allowing local governments to regulate smoking and vaping in music venues and bars.

"It's just really exciting to have cleared that huge legislative hurdle and be at a place where we can really improve the health of Nashvillians and our creative working class.” - Jamie Kent, Chair of Musicians for a Smokefree TN
