In April, CCSN launched the regional COVID-19 response site, a central online referral platform that provides quick and easy access to Community Support Services across Eastern Ontario. Building on the existing eReferral Caredove system, agencies were able to quickly shift to accept online referrals for their new COVID-19 related services.

Over the last 6 months, agencies have responded to the changing needs in our communities. CSS agency staff are working tirelessly to ensure seniors and adults living with disabilities in the community can remain safe at home. In addition to responding to changing needs of current clients, and direct agency referrals, programs also accepted new clients through the central Response site.

During the first wave of the pandemic, 785 new referrals and requests for service were processed through the Response site, and over 440 volunteers were trained and linked to local agencies. Watch our brief update video to learn more:

Since the launch of the Community Support Services COVID Response website, over 700 community members have bee supported and were able to easily access CSS during the pandemic. This webinar will provide an overview of the site and highlight the new features that aim to enhance support during the second wave.

- Enhancements and Updates that make it easier for you to receive referrals
- Updated Volunteer Portal 
- Sneak peak at one agency's online booking system 

Mindfulness Workshop for Staff

CCSN is pleased to present a workshop on managing wellness and self care through mindfulness.  The practice of mindfulness has been found to help cope with stress, build meaningful connections, and improve general quality of life. In this online interactive workshop, participants will explore how COVID has impacted the wellbeing of many frontline workers and deepen their knowledge about the neuroscience and benefits of mindfulness, and learn practical mindfulness tools that can be used any time. 
Presented by Jessica Lemieux, B.S.W. M.S.W.
Jessica has  been studying, teaching and practicing mindfulness for over 15 years.  Jessica is the owner of Cultivation Therapy Services which offers a variety of therapeutic mindfulness meditation programs designed to support the unique needs of frontline staff during this challenging time.

Leadership Workshop: 
Increasing Resiliency in the Workplace though Mindful Self Care Practice 

Friday, November 6, 2020

This leadership workshop is designed to bring together Community Support leaders and managers to understand and recognize the impact of compassion fatigue and burnout in their staff, and review how to support mindfulness and self care in the workplace. 

Participants will come away with resources and tools to build a resilience and wellness action plan for their teams and 
gain greater understanding in:  
  • Understanding and recognizing the warning signs of compassion fatigue and burnout
  • Supporting the psychological wellness of employees
  • Benefits of mindful self-care practice
  • How to incorporate mindfulness into the workplace
Presented by: 
Jessica Lemieux is a therapist and trauma-sensitive meditation teacher operating her private practice out of Ottawa. Jessica has 15 years of diverse experience and specializes in supporting individuals navigate stress through therapeutic mindfulness meditation. Jessica is currently offering workplace mindfulness workshops, group and 1-1 meditation sessions. 
Amanda Rocheleau is a Compassion Fatigue Specialist with over 15 years of experience. Her private practice is based out of Ottawa, where she offers psychotherapy and consulting services while specializing in supporting helping professionals prevent, and recover from stress related issues as a result of their caregiving roles.
