Many organizations are now turning to collaborations, partnerships, joint ventures, and integrations for answers. They are asking: What are the structural opportunities to be found in forging new partnerships? How do we maintain our control, and yet benefit from doing things with others in new ways? How do we even get started? This introduction to partnership building will focus on the following:
  • Why partnerships matter and why your organization needs them.
  • What range of options and spectrum of collaboration are available: from informal links to formal partnership agreements, all the way to integrations, amalgamations or mergers? What are the benefits and risks of each type?
  • What have other organizations partnered on, and what’s worked elsewhere across Ontario?
  • How do you get the conversation started and how do you know which organizations out there are good candidates with whom to begin a dialogue?

This subsequent in-person session will build on the introduction webinar, by asking participants to workshop, in practical ways, the essential components needed to build strong, long-lasting collaborations and partnerships. It will focus on the following:
  • Which organizations do we already know? What is the current state of our relationships, i.e., formal, informal? Are they successful collaborations? How do we know that
  • Considering the spectrum of collaboration, where are there opportunities for us to work with others? What do we have to offer (assets, strengths)? What do we need (gaps, weaknesses)?
  • How might we begin to learn more about one another, and how can we find ways to work smarter together, i.e., through back office, service delivery or programmatic design, or other functions such as fundraising, communications, or government relations

Non-Urgent Transportation Driver Training

We are looking for those interested in helping to develop the content for the regional Driver Training strategy to join this new working group. If you have a passion for non-urgent transportation, love driver training, or simply would like the experience of helping to shape this regional resource, we invite you to join this time-limited working group. The working group members will provide input, insight, and advice on the content for the new regional non-urgent transportation driver training resources.

The group will come together via teleconference to provide input and feedback on the content of the driver training materials. Meetings start in mid-August and are expected to wrap up by the end of December. Click here to learn more about the driver training strategy.
