It's Time to Celebrate! Community Support Month
We are halfway through October which means that we still have two more weeks to recognize and celebrate Community Support month!
In addition to the #CSM2019 campaign toolkit that OCSA released, we encourage all of our members to access the My Story of Community Support videos and resources (ENG / FR) to share across your networks. Let's celebrate and get the word out about the difference volunteers, staff, and programs are making in the lives of seniors and adults living with disabilities to live and remain independent and safe at home.

Volunteer Contribution to
Community Support Services
2018 - 2019
Every day, volunteers contribute to our programs. Volunteers are a pivotal part of the quality experience of our community services. Agencies are required to submit the total number of hours volunteers contribute in their regular reporting. These isolated measures offer a limited glimpse into an agency, but rarely, do we look at the impact volunteers are making across our services.
We are pleased to release our most recent report Volunteer Support in Community Support Services across the region 2018/2019. This report is an initial step toward better understanding where and how volunteers are working in our services, and aims to spark discussion and action ensuring community support programs are responsive and engaged with the volunteers of tomorrow.
Access the full report here: Volunteer Support in Community Support Services across the region 2018/2019
A special thank-you to the member agencies that contributed to this work. Agency-specific reports will be emailed directly.

In honour of Community Service month, CCSN is shining a spotlight on several Difference Makers throughout the month. October's celebrations will feature a condensed version of our articles that highlight descriptive words on how these nominees have made an impact.
Be sure to visit our Facebook page to learn more about October's Difference Makers and help us shine light on the volunteers and staff that are helping to make home and community services great by sharing these posts with your online community!
