Our 2016 Family Camp will be held here at Sanctuary Ranch August 25-September 3. Several families have called to tell us they would be coming. Family Camp takes in two Sabbaths with the first Thursday as arrival day and camp set-up. The first evening meeting on the 25th begins at 7 pm, the subject being “Another Ark to Build.” Anyone who arrives before the 25th—your help is appreciated!
Morning and evening are studies on End Time Events, and Spiritual Preparation. Practical Preparation Subjects conducted during the day include log cabin building, wood cook stove use, hand laundry, charcoal making, bread-making, hydrotherapy off-grid showers, etc. Bonfire spiritual studies at the river will be held three evenings. We will close Family Camp with a study on Signs of Deliverance at the River. There is no charge! You are all invited to come! We are living in urgent times!
A storm is coming, relentless in its fury. Are we prepared to meet it? (8T 315)
Our noon meals will be prepared from food grown in our garden. The purpose of this is for our guests to learn how to feed ourselves, with God’s blessing, from the garden they grow during the time of no-buy- no sell.
"Again and again the Lord has instructed that our people are to take their families away from the cities, into the country, where they can raise their own provisions; for in the future the problem of buying and selling will be a very serious one (Country Living, p 9-10)."
It is vital that we have a deep spiritual relationship with Jesus so that all of our preparations, spiritually and practically, will be successful.
We’ll take a moment to mention our camp rules so that you know how to plan.
1) NO PETS!
2) Children must stay with their parents at all times!
3) When hiking, stay behind the assigned leader and in front of the assigned rearguard.
4) No chopping or peeling bark from trees except when instructed to do so.
5) Do not drink river water. Use the drinking water provided.
6) Wash hands with soap at stations provided, especially after using the out house.
7) Please pump, heat, and use your own water. take care not to dilute someone’s hot water!
8) Donations are appreciated toward camp expense.
9) Please do not bring anything to sell.
10) Sort your garbage: can as marked for compost, paper, plastic, and metal.

Sanctuary Ranch Family News
On the night of June 14 shortly before midnight the rain began. Two days later, after nearly 6 inches of rain, the Peace Country floods were a national news item! We recognized, after taking our quads out to assess the damage, that we were marooned. The water was two feet deep!
A large portion of Chetwynd was without power for several days. Here is a photo of our main highway, just a couple of miles from our house. Fortunately, the west half of the road held firm, and is now awaiting re-paving. We are thankful for God’s protection!
Jere continues to improve, though it seems the enemy is inventing strange side-issues that are seemingly unrelated. They always develop on Sabbath when he is scheduled to teach Sabbath School class or has a sermon to preach! He goes ahead, often in the face of much difficulty.
We are scheduling seminars this next Oct.-Nov., including the Sustainable Preparedness seminar in Portland, October 23 where Jere will be speaking to a number of non-Christians about being prepared for the end times. The title of his topic is, “What are We Preparing For?”
We’ll post our speaking schedule on the website (www.youcansurvive.org). You can check it to see if we will be in your area. Please continue to pray for us!
Remote Alaska Property for Sale
Our friends, Roger and Dianne Merrill, are selling their beautiful and remote 762 acres in Talkeetna, Alaska. Asking $2,600,000. Go to Craig’s list for pictures and details: https://anchorage.craigslist.org/reo/5679537923.html. Description of Merrill’s ranch and outreach: “This land and location is perfect for a true end-time school (including Health Education). Only 13 miles from a mecca of tourists from all over the world, a new huge batch every day, and able serve all the isolated native villages right from our own airstrip with the gospel thru our own Godly team thru music and testimonies. There are still about 200 native villages not yet reached by the Thee Angel’s Message."
Social Networking Skills Needed by Jere and Linda
It is our understanding that book marketing can be accomplished from any North American remote location. We are in need of someone to design and post e-books online (the manuscripts are all finished), and market the printed volumes that we have on hand. Any of you who have read our books, could post them on facebook and pass them along that way as a “like” (or something like that?). Contacts, by either PayPal or check sales, go through Ruth Maddy, 509-369-2671 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the Chapel
Recently we had contact with friend who wish us to endorse the idea that the Holy Spirit is not an individual person, I (Jere) watched this idea develop many years ago, in opposition to what the Spirit of Prophecy declares. It is dangerous for the following reasons:
- It creates an excitement that I have found something new.
- I find that the church does not support my new idea.
- I declare myself in opposition to the church’s position based on my new ideas.
- I choose to leave the church for reasons of apostasy, differences of opinion or confrontation.
"Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn (Matthew 13:24-30)."
We are told to let the wheat and tares grow together until the harvest. The church will always have tares, but they do not constitute a reason to leave the church.
"Enfeebled and defective as it may appear, the church is the one object upon which God bestows in a special sense His supreme regard. It is the theater of His grace, in which He delights to reveal His power to transform hearts (Acts of the Apostles, p. 12)."
"There is no need to doubt, to be fearful that the work will not succeed. God is at the head of the work, and He will set everything in order. If matters need adjusting at the head of the work, God will attend to that, and work to right every wrong. Let us have faith that God is going to carry the noble ship which bears the people of God safely into port (Selected Messages, book 2, p. 390:2)."
In summary of these references, note these observations:
- The wheat and tares grow together, in God’s church, until the harvest.
- God’s church is identified in Revelation 12:17 as those who keep the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus. The wheat of the church do that, but the tares do not.
- Enfeebled, weak, and defective though it is, the church is the ONE object on which God bestows special grace and love.
- The ship (church) is going through. Whatever mistakes have been made will be adjusted (from the head of the work) and every wrong made right.
- When the storm gets rough is not the time to leave the ship which is captained by our Redeemer.
These “new truths” that are not supported by the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy are dangerous in their content as well as the path that they lead to exclusion and separation.
The story is told of a young man who was talking with an older pastor, at the fireside, about separating from the church because it was growing cold and indifferent. The old pastor took the poker and pulled out a coal from the fire onto the hearth. They both watched it grow cold because of separation. The conclusion was obvious. Seek and find those who are heart-to-heart with you in Bible study, Spirit of Prophecy, and in their desire for outreach within the church. They are there!
In closing, if you would like a copy of our study on the Holy Spirit, who is an individual person, please e-mail us and we will be happy to forward it to you.
