The NCSITE wanted to extend an invite to any of our members who may live near or work in Charlotte to attend their webinar this Thursday 6/30 at noon.
Conversations in Transportation #9, June 30th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm - Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing cities in the US, and so far it has managed to grow fast while still maintaining a decent level of mobility in most corridors, even during peak hours. Is there a tipping point on the horizon though? Is there some level of growth beyond which widespread congestion in many places at many times becomes a fact of life for the people of Charlotte? Our guest is one of the leaders who has thought the most about future mobility in Charlotte - Ed McKinney, Deputy Director of the Charlotte DOT. Ed’s career includes over two decades of private and public service in transportation, urban design, and community planning. Over the course of his career he has directed a wide range of efforts including transit planning, corridor and urban redevelopment, and large-scale private land development strategies.
