Uncovering Garver's History
Pictured: Ariel Photo of Garver Feed Mill circa 1950's
In 2019, Garver Feed Mill partnered with the Madison Public Library as part of the Madison Living History Project. A collection of stories from individuals with a personal connection were documented to help tell the story of the Garver Feed Mill building and it's place in Madison's history. Highlights include stories from the great-grand-son and great-great-granddaughter of Hans Struck, who built the original structure when it was used as a sugar beet factory in the early twentieth century and Jim Gempeler, a residential architect, who worked as the unofficial night watchman for the Garver Feed Mill and built a living space for himself into the upper loft of the building.

Have a old Garver photo or story to share and want to add to the collection? Send them to info@garverfeedmill.com.
