What's Happening on the Farm

February UPDATE

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the first ever Copper Tail Farm newsletter! Thanks for being here!

2016 is going to be a great year for Copper Tail! We have a few updates and changes.

First of all, we're engaged! Jon popped the question in the goat barn, and I said YES!  The goats don't seem to care too much, but we are beyond excited and looking forward to a small summer wedding here at the farm.
Welcome to our new Livestock Guardian Dog, Ronan! He came to us very unexpectedly, and we fell in love with him instantly. He's been learning from Gwen, our current LGD (Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepard mix). Ronan is 100% Great Pyrenees, and 100% adorable.
Farmer's Markets We've decided to drop the Monday afternoon Damariscotta Farmer's Market. We are replacing it with the Wednesday afternoon Waldoboro Farmer's Market. There were many factors that weighed into this decision- mostly that we live in Waldoboro and want to help the market in our community thrive. Our soap is still for sale in Rising Tide, so for all of you Damariscotta customers you can get your Copper Tail fix there. We'll be trying to get our other products offered in the store as well. Our markets will be:
        Waldoboro Farmer's Market Wednesdays 3-6pm
        Rockland Farmer's Market Thursdays 9am - 1pm
        Bath Farmer's Market Saturdays 8:30am - noon
Product Changes/Updates
  •  Cajeta: We'll be focusing a lot on our cajeta, and will be adding new flavors to what we currently carry. Stay tuned!
  •  Goat Milk Yogurt! We'll be adding goat milk yogurt to our product line this year! We are in the process of getting our side kitchen licensed so we can make yogurt and cheese. We'll offer plain, as well as some flavor surprises. Stay tuned!
  • Goat Milk Caramels: Although delicious, our goat milk caramels were tricky to make consistently due to humidity and temperature fluctuations. We don't use corn syrup in our caramels, which adds a whole extra level of challenge. We will still be making our caramels, but in limited quantities and they won't always be available.
Monthly Recipe: Caramel Cinnamon Buns Cinnamon buns are Christelle's favorite food, and luckily Jon used to be a pastry chef before he was a farmer. He's been making pumpkin cinnamon buns, chocolate cinnamon buns, lemon blueberry cinnamon buns, etc.! The best part of the bun? Pour warm cajeta over each one instead of icing. Need cajeta? We still have jars for sale- come on by the farm! *This is not our photo* Link to the recipe we use:
That's all for now! Enjoy the snow! We still have cajeta for sale if you're needing a caramel fix!
