Here's what's happening at Nativity.

Pentecost Sunday - 5/15

Pentecost was originally a Jewish feast for which the apostles and  Mary had gathered together to celebrate in the upper room after Jesus's resurrection and ascension. It was then that the Holy Spirit descended upon them, enabling them to speak boldly about the faith in every language. And now we pray, "Come, Holy Spirit!"

Archbishop Installation

All are invited to three events to celebrate Archbishop Bernard Hebda’s installation: Vespers at the Basilica tonight, the Installation Mass tomorrow at the Cathedral, and a public reception following the mass at Cretin-Derham Hall.

No Friday (5/13) 5pm Mass

The priests will be celebrating the Archbishop's installation tomorrow, and you should too!
(No confessions, either.)

Matthew Quail Ordination

Please join the us for Nativity parishioner Matthew Quail's ordination to the transitional diaconate, the last step before priesthood, at the Basilica on Saturday at 10am. All are invited. Congratulations, Matthew!

Happy Feast of the Holy
Roman Martyrs!

Today, the Church celebrates the feasts of Sts. Nereus and Achilleus as well as St. Pancras (pictured at right), who defended his faith to the Roman Emperor Diocletian at age 14. Pray for us, holy martyrs!

Adoration Signup Wknd.

Could you use extra time for prayer, to better listen to the Holy Spirit? Commit to a weekly hour of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament! There will be an opportunity to sign up in the back of church after all masses this weekend.

Sunday's Readings

In the First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles, St. Luke details the Pentecost event, while the Second Reading explores how the Holy Spirit welcomes us into a greater relationship with God. Finally, in the Gospel, Jesus reveals his desire to bestow the Spirit upon his disciples.
