Here's what's happening at Nativity.

Pope Saint John Paul II

Saturday is the feast of Pope St. John Paul II (pictured at left), who caught the imagination of millions of Catholics and non-Catholics alike. Fighting for justice for the oppressed and believing a joyful smile and a heart of love are the first steps to sharing the Gospel, his legacy is carried on in many ways by our current pontiff, Pope Francis.
Pray for us, St. John Paul, that we may "Be not afraid" to "Open wide the doors for Christ!

Archdiocesan Youth Day

Experience the community of World Youth Day locally with other teens for a day of fun and spiritual growth at Archdiocesan Youth Day 2016 next Saturday.
Contact Isaac Huss to register by next Wednesday.

NCCW Membership Drive

NCCW representatives will be distributing membership materials after masses on Sunday, and are happy to discuss upcoming events and opportunities.  Dues can be paid at mass or online.

World Mission Sunday

World Mission Sunday is a special day the universal Church offers prayers and financial support for the worldwide missions.  There will be a 2nd collection this weekend in support of this important work.

Michael McClellan is Back

...And better than ever (because he's a priest now)!  He'll be speaking at the inaugural Catholic Watchman Night next Thursday, 10/27 from 6:30-9pm, which also includes adoration, confession, and dinner.  All men are invited!

Sunday's Readings

In the First Reading, the book of Sirach describes God's concern for the lowly, while the Second Reading from St. Paul's letter to Timothy is a dissertation on faithful perseverance.  In St. Luke's Gospel, Jesus offers a powerful image describing the proper posture of of prayer before God.
