HS Cathedral Hike

High schoolers: join Deacon

Chad for a Pilgrimage Hike to the Cathedral of St. Paul this Sunday. The event will include a meeting with Archbishop Hebda and a private Sunday mass with Fr. John Powers. Don't miss this unique opportunity!

Urban Catholic Happy Hour & Saints Game

Young adults 18-35 are

invited to join Urban Catholic for the Saint Paul Saints game tonight and a happy hour beforehand. Meet us at Dark Horse in Lowertown beginning at 5:30pm and join us for the game afterward. Standing Room Only tickets are available at the stadium for $7. Hope to see you there!

Dedication of Mary Major

Tomorrow we celebrate the first church dedicated to Our Lady, St. Mary Major in Rome. Legend has it that a miraculous snow fell in the fourth century at the height of the Roman summer (depicted above left), inspiring a wealthy family to build the Basilica. To this day, the church rains white rose petals on its congregation on August 5 in honor of "Our Lady of the Snows."

Sunday's Readings

The first and second readings explore God's plan of salvation beginning with Abraham's faith and manifesting itself especially at the first Passover. And in Matthew's Gospel, Jesus offers the parable of vigilant servants, reminding us to live every day like it's our last.
