Here's what's happening at Nativity.

Immaculate Conception

Sometimes confused with Jesus's miraculous conception in Mary's womb, the Immaculate ("without stain of sin") Conception actually refers to Mary's conception in the womb of her parents, Sts. Anne and Joachim.  God preserved Our Lady from original sin from her very beginning so that she would be an unblemished living tabernacle for God himself--and that's a reason to celebrate!

Young Adult Events

Anyone aged 21-35 is invited to join Urban Catholic, a dynamic young adult movement at Nativity, for two upcoming events:

Saint Juan Diego

St. Juan Diego (pictured above left) was hiking in the hill country outside Mexico City in the 16th century when he received dazzling visions of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  He is the first indigenous saint from the Americas, whom we celebrate tomorrow.
Pray for us, San Juan, that we may imitate your simple life of holiness and dedication to vocation and to Our Lady.  Amen!

Second Collection

Nativity is taking up a second collection this weekend to help provide nursing care, prescription medications, and more for sisters, brothers, and religious priests. Please give to those who have given a lifetime! Checks can be made payable to Retirement Fund for Religious.

Sunday's Readings

The mass readings this coming Sunday declare the new dawn which the Christ will bring.  In Matthew's Gospel, John and his disciples ask, "Are you the one who is to come?" while St. James declares, "The coming of the Lord is at hand."
