Here's what's happening at Nativity.

Ash Wednesday

Next Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and that means the beginning of Lent as well. Lent can be a powerful opportunity to love others better, gain greater self-mastery, and grow in relationship with God. Join us for mass on Wednesday to start it off right!

Scout Award Winners

On February 5, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Nativity celebrated Scout Sunday at the 8:15am mass and 100 scouts received religious awards. Find out who on the Nativity blog.
Congratulations, scouts!

Saint Polycarp

Today we celebrate St. Polycarp of Smyrna (pictured above left), a Greek bishop whose 2nd century martyrdom was recorded by St. Iranaeus.
Polycarp was a disciple of the apostle John and other eyewitnesses of Jesus and thus is considered an Apostolic Father of the Church.
St. Polycarp, pray for us, that we may treasure the gift of faith handed on to us by the apostles and so imitate your love for Jesus Christ. Amen!

Politics and
Christian Community

Many young adults are looking to political philosophies and ideologies to shape their worldview, while others stay out of politics completely. Fr. Byron Hagan will offer an alternative: participation in public life from a Catholic perspective. Anybody 21-35 is invited to Sunday's Urban Catholic Lord's Day to learn more.

Sunday's Readings

In Sunday's readings, God is inviting us to trust in him. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus asks, "Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span?" And in the book of prophet Isaiah, God promises: "I will never forget you!"
