It's All About Kids (IAK) follows the Center for Disease Control's (CDC), Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) Model. Community Engagement is one of ten components. IAK partners with a few organizations around Tulsa County such as the Tulsa Drillers, Bike Club, OSU, and Tandy YMCA. These organizations each bring something different to the table.  If you are interested in having us at your school, please contact us to get scheduled!

It’s All About Kids Employee Wellness Challenges have been a great success. We have partnered with multiple school staff members to help them reach personal health goals.  Dawn Farrell a 5th grade teacher at Hoover Elementary and has been a wonderful example of how sharing your goal with others can help bring forth amazing results. Here is a little testimony on how the IAK Employee Wellness Program has helped Dawn succeed.

"My name is Dawn Farrell, and I am a 5th grade Science/Social Studies teacher at Hoover Elementary.  At Hoover, we use The Leader in Me to teach students the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.  One of the ways we do that is by creating Personal Wildly Important Goals.  My Personal W. I. G. is to get 150 Heart Points a week.  I shared this goal with my students and explained how hard it has been for me to achieve this goal.  Then, I received an email about the MoveSpring Step Challenge.  I decided to join the advanced step challenge and it changed my life!  The motivation to reach the goal of 12,500 steps was escalated by checking to see how many steps others in the challenge were getting.  I was walking everyday with purpose.  My family even became involved!  My granddaughters would ask me every day if I still needed more steps because they love walking with me. I was motivated to do more than 12,500 steps.  I finished 2nd place overall for the first challenge.  It felt so good to be able to share with my students and family how this step challenge helped me reach my heart points goal.  Now they are asking if there is a step challenge they could join!  It's exciting to be able to share healthy habits with my family and students."

From teaching kiddos on how best to take care of their teeth with our Dental Health lesson (top left) to teaching them breathing techniques in Mindfulness (top right), IAK has had so much fun! We even decided to get the teachers involved by doing some Professional Development for Teambuilding and Incorporating Core Curriculum in PE (bottom photos).
