Volume 24 Issue 4 - April 2016

Meeting Monday, May 2nd.

Hello Marines and Associates,

We're about to get ready for the summer, high school graduation and prom. The summer will be in full swing and everybody is real busy. I want to remind those who have children or grandchildren who are going to be attending college to please submit your paperwork for the scholarships the Alamo Detachment has to offer.
Despite the Marine band not attending during fiesta I would like to create a picnic that we will to invite the Marine Wounded Warrior Regiment, San AntonioYyoung Marines and the members of our Marine Corps league Detachment. At the meeting we would like to explore a date which is convenient for everybody.
We also have an opportunity to participate with a fundraiser for a Marine police officer who was injured in December who is now in a coma with four children who need help. I would like to propose that our members come together to help this family like Marines do. During the meeting I would like to ask our members for ideas on how best to raise funds to support officer Ernesto Vasquez.
Our Marines Helping Marines Program continues at its NEW TIME. If you wish to help during the ‘Taco Thursday’ Breakfasts being served at 0900, you are more than welcome. Contact Bob Otto for more information.

The Alamo Detachment 315 can't continue its mission without your help and participation, please become active in your Detachment. Remember, Marines are Marines forever.
Let us not forget that Marines and Corpsmen are still in harm's way. Please keep them and their loved ones in your daily prayers.
Our next regular meeting will takes place Monday, May 2nd  at 1830, at Monday, May 2, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. Social Hour starts at 6:30 p.m. Where: VFW Post 9186, located at 650 VFW Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78214.
