Thank You, Members!

One of the first questions I asked myself when I came on board as the new communications and membership manager was, “Who are our Members?” Here's what I've learned:

Our members are history buffs, steamship enthusiasts, families exploring our waterways, and people who just love to get out on the water. But they all one thing in common—they want to save the VIRGINIA V and have fun while doing it.

I haven't met many of you in person yet but already I've gained a great appreciation for what the VIRGINIA V means to this community. I’ve heard from a woman in her 90s who fondly remembers sailing to Camp Sealth on the VIRGINIA V as a girl. I've learned about Members who were married on the ship
and continue to return to celebrate year after year. And I’ve witnessed a boy’s entire face light up as his mom pointed out how the steam moves the pistons to propel the ship forward.

To thank you for keeping her steaming all these years, the VIRGINIA V will host a Happy Hour Cruise for Members on Sunday, May 19. This fun-filled event will feature beer from Pike Brewing Company, wine from Chateau Ste. Michelle, and a trivia scavenger hunt with drink prizes. As our guests of honor, I hope you’ll join us!
If you have any questions, comments, or would just like to say hello, feel free to contact me at I look forward to seeing you on board soon!
