Early in November, My and Jonathan decided to answer a calling in their heart and follow the centuries old custom of dharma practitioners to spend the rainy season nourishing body and mind with rest, healing and community.
So they set the stage for an online Rains Retreat to happen by making the humble offering of morning and evening meditation sessions five times a week. They hoped a few friends might join.
Since then the response has been enlivening, and the offerings have expanded to include a weekly day of mindfulness, dharma sharing, interpreted dharma talks, and a sutra study course. Many friends have stepped up to offer their presence and energy to the special opportunity for dwelling deeply in practice for 90 days.
So, we've stepped up our effort to gather and organize this energy. We've been practicing as a community for a week already. If you you've been with us so far, we would now like to ask for your support by enrolling in the retreat so that we can easily send you announcements, and so that you can access all the materials that interest you. And if you're just hearing about the retreat, and would like to join now or in the future, enrolling makes sure you get all the info you need right from the beginning.
At Mariposa, this week has seen the return of rain to a very parched earth. Our practice has felt the same and we are so looking forward to the rest of these three months with you.
