A Cabin is Open at Mariposa

It’s rare that one finds an opportunity live in solitude and community at the same time. But now you can have your very own hermitage at a mindfulness retreat center and practice with Sugarplum Sangha.

The cabin is a cozy dwelling perched next to a flowing seasonal creek. Being off grid and out of cell phone signal range, it is a peaceful and quite space for meditation, and healing while still close enough to the retreat facilities to be in touch with all the necessities of modern living. It comes equipped with solar set up that provides power to overhead lights and outlets, phone line, and kitchen with propane appliances including refrigerator, on-demand water heater, stove, and oven. There is a aink with running water and an efficient woodstove keeps it very warm in winter months.

Residents can access the lodge for phone, internet, laundry, hot showers, and leisure. The facilities have also been made available for residents to host their own guests or events.

The Sugarplum Sangha lives and practices together at the retreat center. Being a sangha member in residence opens the opportunity to practice mindfulness in the Plum Village Tradition of Engaged Buddhism every day! Together, we enjoy sitting and walking meditation, community meals, working meditation, and Beginning Anew. We also deepen our practice by offering retreats and events to the extended community and the public in general.
