This pizza party: the extrude-off!
We are inviting our customers to enter the extrude-off competition. The items entered have to be designed by the participant and should be sufficient different from open designs from the community (judged by RRW).
The competition will take place on 14-06-2018 from 20:00.
Please contact Russell on russ@reprapworld.com if you wish to enter with your extruder!
The competition will consist of 3 rounds:
1. ThruPut (How fast can you push the filament?!)
2. Retraction Challenge (How gentle is the extruder with the filament)
3. Elevator Pitch (sell your extruder to the audience in maximum 5 minutes)
The first 2 rounds will have a point system. In the last round the audience can choose their favorite by coins. The first two rounds will take place on our Guinea Dinosaur Delta Rex.
The prints will be done with the 0.6mm Volcano nozzle and a Nema17 (60mm) motor. The extruder must work with 1.75mm filament.
Right now the contestants are:
- Gemstruder
- V-Struder V2
- Cutting Edge Struder
- Cranker
- Titan*
*If you are a expert with the Titan extruder from E3D, please let us know if you would like to represent the Titan in this extrude-off.

New Website online!
For many weeks we have been busy with the new website.
Since the start of RepRapWorld many years ago the back-end and front-end have been growing and developing. And in some cases it was much needed to update large parts of the website to be able to be more customer friendly and keep growing and increase the speed of the website in general.
Most of the changes happened in the back-end where we process the orders but also the front-end where you are placing your order got a big update!
What is most noticeable is the updated graphics and the way we present you with the products. There is more space for the product photo. On the pages where we have filters there is a completely new system in place. This will allow you to quickly find the items you are looking for.
Please write to us if you find any bugs, that is greatly appriciated. Like the RepRap community we grow with input!
We were visited by Gert Hietkamp from Wizzdrum. Showing off his fully printed drumset. Gert used Real Filament PLA black on his Opiliones Delta printer. It is a amazing result and while we have seen a Zelda flute being played, never a professional grade instrument.
One of the unique features is a tension system which allowed the user to put tension on the drums with the turn of only 1 'screw'.
