Hello and welcome to the latest Harrow Voluntary & Community Sector (VCS) Forum e-bulletin. I’m John, VCS Cabinet Advisor. This bulletin contains the upcoming items in cabinet meetings.
Dear all,
I have met some of you at the recent forum meetings. I took on the Executive Cabinet role later part of last year. This is a new role representing the voluntary sector at Cabinet. I expect that the role will develop over time.

I am able to meet with report writers prior to report going to Cabinet and feed in views. The current forward plan states the following reports are due to go to Cabinet in April and May:
April (11th April)
Housing Management and Asset Management IT replacement project
Homes for Harrow: Grange Farm Regeneration phase 1
Stair lifts Procurement 2019-2022
Special needs taxi framework procurement

May (23rd May)
Local Implementation Plan 3

Procurement of a cloud based planning system
I have asked to be informed about reports at least two months in advance but I have not had a response to this thus far. As you can see the current forward plan is quite limited and does not give much of a sense what the reports are about but if you think that your organisation has views on any of the above contact me details below.
At the March Cabinet meeting I asked that the proposed procurement for  a provider to undertake disability transport assessments that people with disabilities were involved in the procurement. The Cabinet member agreed that this was a good idea and agreed to look into this. The minutes record this discussion.
I am keen to make the role a success and for it to add value to the Cabinet process such that the voluntary sector is able to influence decisions to good effect.
I have set up an email about for the role If you have any views about the forthcoming reports above please email me asap but certainly by 8th April.
Best wishes
John Higgins
