Special offer for our newsletter readers: join us in North Iceland in September
Follow the Arctic Trail around North East Iceland from Husavik to Akureyri. Enjoy the stunning and varied landscapes of the Tjornes Peninsula and Lake Myvatn, the power of the mighty Dettifoss waterfall, the remote coastline and abandoned villages that once skirted the Arctic Circle. Relax in the Nature Baths, hunt for the Aurora and hope to catch sight of an Arctic Fox. It’s also a trip that caters for various levels of activity: from strolling, to hiking and Nordic walking http://icelandtraveller.co.uk/our-friends/ which we are introducing for the first time on this trip. To share this small group holiday and participate in our new adventure, please contact us.

Happy times at Surbiton Food Festival
With our food tour departing to Iceland soon, we are already planning for next year’s trip, which will explore some of the more remote areas of the country to visit small producers, taste locally sourced foods and enjoy stunning landscapes.
We’ve been testing out the interests of our local Surbiton food lovers over the last couple of weeks by participating in the events at the town’s annual food festival.

We had a wonderful afternoon at the Village Fete, where we held a free competition to guess where on our large Icelandic map, the elves had hidden the treasure. For the winners of the junior prize, the elves chose an organic Icelandic pancake and waffle mix with a jar of Blueberry and Angelica jam which were ‘hidden’ in the mysterious lake Lagarfljöt in Eastern Iceland, near to where these products were made.

For the adults, the elves chose another watery location, but this time near to the beautiful Langjökull glacier at Sandvatn. They put together a bottle of Leifur Nordic Saison beer, a bar of Omnon’s chocolate handcrafted in Reykjavik and a little bar of ‘Rabarbia’ rhubarb brittle crunch.

Adventures and Holidays for Scouts Guide and Uniformed Groups
Our summer 2016 Girlguiding groups will be flying out as soon as term ends in July, and after all the fund raising and planning everyone deserves to have a spectacular time. Some are travelling to North Iceland (well done ladies!) and most are including service work in their programmes. We had fantastic feedback from a group who spent Easter in Iceland. http://icelandtraveller.co.uk/tours-created-by-girlguiding-leaders-for-uniformed-groups/

Here’s what Jess had to say:"I had the most amazing time in Iceland with the most amazing people. I saw things I never thought I'd see, ate amazing food and never stopped laughing and having fun. It's been the best trip ever!"
