Hello Soup Dragons
Well, we’ve done it! The grand total of funds raised last week at Sutton Soup 9 broke through the four-figure barrier and came in at an absolutely amazing £1040. A huge, huge thank you to everyone – our best attendance ever at 175 people - who came along to help us raise this record-breaking amount, and to our sponsors for the evening, who were Sainsbury’s, Cheam Financial Planning, Digum, Suremind, and the Robin Hood pub who prepared the soup.
Just in case you couldn’t make it on the night, here’s a recap of the pitches for you:
Downsyndrome OK – Kathy from Downsyndrome OK pitched for money to run Spangles, a new drama group that has been set up for children with Downs Syndrome in Carshalton: http://www.downsyndromeok.org.uk
Sutton Women’s Centre – Anna, the chair of Sutton Women’s Centre, pitched to help fund the redecoration and refurbishment of the centre’s crèche: http://www.suttonwomen.co.uk
Carshalton Artists Open Studios – Neal and Julie were pitching to raise funds for the Carshalton Artists Open Studios 2018 festival: https://www.carshaltonartists.com
The Dreaming Tree Project – Penny just set up the Dreaming Tree Project last year and she wanted money to help buy radio aids for deaf children: https://www.thedreamingtreeproject.com
It was a really good mix of pitchers and a very difficult choice for some, but in the end, the money went to Penny and the Dreaming Tree Project. She said it would go straight to buying a radio aid for a deaf little boy who really needs it and she will be back in July to let us know how it went.
We are looking forward to hearing all about that at Soup 10 on 12th July, and if you don’t want to miss it why not book your place now via Eventbrite?
Finally, if you haven’t already clicked this button to let us know that you want to keep hearing from us, please do it now! We want to keep you in the loop with Soup.
