Hello Soup Dragons

It’s hot outside and it’s warm in our hearts, because Sutton Soup 10 is nearly here! Yes, our tenth Soup is next Thursday 12th July and we have got four more great pitchers for you…

Lighthouse – is a project run by Sutton Vineyard Church to provide good quality clothes and equipment to young families in need. At weekly drop ins held at The Dolphin Pub, they offer refreshments and a safe place for children to play while the team try to match the parents with appropriate items from their store of donations. Jason, a pastor from Sutton Vineyard, will be pitching to tell us all about the scheme and why they need funds: https://www.suttonvineyard.org/community/#lighthouse

Look Good Feel Better – is an international charity that helps women and teenagers manage the visible side effects of cancer treatment. Charlotte runs the Sutton branch, holding monthly workshops at the Royal Marsden. These sessions are as much about mental wellbeing as outward appearance and really boost the spirits of the ladies who take part, helping them to fight cancer with their heads held high: https://www.lookgoodfeelbetter.co.uk

9th Carshalton Scout Group – this group has been running for 85 years to provide all the benefits of the Scouting movement to young people in the Carshalton area. Sarah will be pitching for them to raise funds to take the children away to camp for a weekend filled with fun activities: https://www.9thcarshalton.com

Social Orchards – want to plant up the Wandle Valley with free fruit! This scheme, run by Robert who will be pitching, started off by creating community planting areas in Hackbridge and now is looking further afield to plant a ‘food forest’ accessible to local residents all along the Wandle trail. This would provide free fruit for the community, increase green space and promote health and exercise to all who used it: http://www.socialorchards.co.uk

We will also be hearing from Penny at the Dreaming Tree Project, who took away a record breaking £1040 from April’s event.

You don’t want to miss it! If you haven’t already booked your ticket then you can do so here: Eventbrite.

We’ll be in touch again next week with more details.

All the best
